Turkey Day

Posted Nov 25 2011 8:46pm

Even though Thanksgiving was just yesterday, I feel like I have so much to catch up on!

First of all, my Thanksgiving was awesome. I always love having my family around, and I was totally stuffed by the end of the night, of course.

The day started off with a bowl of Thanksgiving oats!

 In the Mix:

pumpkin puree

vanilla extract

peanut butter

I absolutely love pecans…I usually never have them other than in pies and it always feels so special to eat them.

I got ready super early in the day and had some time to have a mini photo shoot with Pepe before Mom & I hit the grocery store and to visit my Grandma.

As for my Thanksgiving outfit, I ended up changing because I wasn’t comfortable at all and comfort is key!! No matter how cute an outfit is, I can’t wear it if I feel uncomfortable

The one thing I did keep from changing outfits was from my necklace. I love it! You can’t tell in the picture, but it’s super shiny. I like shiny.

I had leftover shrimp stuffed pasta shells somewhere in the middle of the day, but didn’t take a picture because it wasn’t the big main event of the day…

…which was dinner!!

There was On my plate here there’s mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, mashed sage butternut squash (YUM!!), turkey (all covered in gravy of course), bread and cranberry sauce . Of course I also went back for more after. Everything was so good. The mashed sage butternut squash was a new addition this year and it was amazing. Everyone loved it!

I feel so fortunate that my parents are amazing cooks. They did a great job, like always!!

For dessert we had 3 choices, german chocolate cake, pumpkin pie with homemade whipped cream and pumpkin pecan cheesecake…I bet you can’t guess what I chose.

Uh yea, all 3. Thanksgiving=turkey? No way. Thanksgiving=dessert, dessert & more dessert.

Today I braved the stores and headed out with my Mom to start on our Christmas shopping. Success!!

Do you participate in Black Friday shopping?

What’s your favorite Thanksgiving dish?
