Try It Yourself Series: Sugar-Free (Day 5)

Breakfast

Oh man, Saturdays are always so wishy-washy. I tried really hard to have everything planned out, but that kind of well through.

I woke up bright and early to go out to the barn and ride my pony Ginny. I brought some orange slices and cheerios with me to munch on throughout the morning, but didn't end up eating them until closer to 10:30am. Oops! It can be easy to lose track of time when riding.


Workout

My workout for today was all barn-related. I started off by doing a 30 minute Parelli session with Ginny with a lot of running around playing Stick to Me. Then, I hopped on in a stirrupless Christ saddle for a 40 minute ride. We did a lot of trotting and no stirrup work. I spent about half of the time posting and a couple of rounds in the 2-point. My legs were screaming by the time I was done!

After sending Ginny back out to the paddock, I hopped on another horse for a training session. I rode him for another 40 minutes with a leader. Finally, I ended my day leading a third horse in another training session. We stayed at the walk for the most part, but did quite a bit of trotting and running around. I was tired by the end and felt like I got in a good workout!

Lunch

After the barn, I met Casey at the grocery store to stock up on some necessities. When we got home, we ended up snacking on our new food and didn't have a set meal. I didn't snap any photos either. Another oops!

Dinner

Because I had such a late breakfast and an even later lunch, I haven't had dinner yet. It's only 8pm, so I might end up having a snack later on. Instead, I made a birthday cake tea latte in place of dinner.



It was incredible! This tea is by far my favourite tea ever!


And just for the fun of it, I thought I'd share my lovely helmet/headband hair that has been a focal points of many chuckles today. I guess that's what happens when you wear a headband or a helmet all day long!


That's all for now! Only two more days of the sugar-free challenge, although it hadn't even felt like much of a challenge yet. I think this challenge has made me realize that I don't eat as much added sugar as I once thought I did. It has helped me become more conscious of whether or not I actually need to add sugar when I do use it, but it hasn't been very difficult. We'll have to up the stakes for the next Try It Yourself Series!
