Trainer’s Challenge

The weather is so nice in Chicago today!  Okay, it’s still dark and overcast, but hey, it’s 55 degrees and I’m resisting the urge to hit the beach.  Amazing how 55 degrees can feel so warm after weeks of freezing weather.

If the weather hadn’t warmed me up, my workout definitely would have.  I went to Workout Challenge at the gym and following 30 minutes of circuit training with weights we did a “Trainer’s Challenge” which consisted of
  • 300 jump ropes
  • 50 push ups
  • 100 reach squats
  • 50 lat pull downs with resistance tube
  • 1 mile on treadmill
Repeat the sequence one more time without the run on the end.  The whole thing took me 25 minutes.  Walker finished in 22:25, show off.  :)

I was trying not to finish dead last, so I really cranked it up on the run and set a 1 mile treadmill PR (do such things exist?) of a 9:18 mile.  This is FAST for me!  Maybe all this running and strength training is finally paying off and I’m getting faster, we’ll see once all the left over ice is melted and I can hit the pavement again.

I’m off work today, so a trip to Target is in order, followed by a Bulls game vs. the Spurs!
