Today’s Tastes, Workout & a Pizza Birthday Dinner

Hi friends! This sure has been a long week for me.  How about you?  School is keeping me absurdly busy for the foreseeable future, thanks to a couple group projects, multiple assignments and 3 exams next week. Bleh.

While I’ve been running around like a maniac this week, I’ve been keeping my priorities straight:

  • getting  7-8 hours of sleep every night
  • eating healthfully
  • exercising every day!

This morning started with a 4 mile run which was slower than my Monday morning run .    We did a lot of leg work in power yoga last night so my legs were tired – and so was I.  Days like this, I ignore my performance and pat myself on the back just for making the effort to do something good for my mind and body.

Mile 1: 9:20

Mile 2: 9:37

Mile3: 10:00

Mile 4: 9:18

Breakfast was a bowl of my new favorite cereal, Barbara’s Shredded Oats and an apple for the road.

Lunch and snack for the day: leftover pizza from a fun dinner with the girls last night, another apple and a banana.

Last night the girls and I met at Pazzo , an Italian restaurant in Chapel Hill, to celebrate our friend Anne ’s birthday!

Anne and I split a huge pizza with fresh mushrooms, tomato, pepperoni and spinach.

I also ordered a bowl of their butternut squash soup.  Yet another reason why I love Fall.

Yum.  I’ve been inspired to make my own butternut squash soup soon, too!

The dinner was fantastic.  A relaxing night with the ladies was just what I needed after a long day!
