Today’s Circuit(s) Workout

Posted May 26 2011 10:38am

Morning friends! I have mucho to do today, involving cleaning (using my shaklee goodies!). If you click on that link, Kath does an amazing job reviewing Shaklee’s product. I bought it after reading that post and seriously the stuff is amazing. Everything has proved to work so well, and I am especially thrilled with the dishwashing detergent. My dishes would always have a film on them or look cloudy, with a weird detergent smell to them.. but now they have NO smell at all and they come out shining with no cloudyness or film. I honestly could not believe the difference! And don’t even get me started on the other stuff, especially the scour off!
If your looking for a green way to clean your home with great results, this is the way to go :)

Moving on!
Yesterday I had a long shift at work and couldn’t blog, but wanted to share with you that I did get to make the rhubarb bread again the other day..

Strawberry Rhubarb Bread : Doubled the recipe!

Into a lovely bundt cake/bread. Bundt is such a funny word. And looks kinda boring. But don’t be fooled! Its very tasty.
FYI: The organic strawberries from trader joes are soooo good right now. And inexpensive compared to other organic strawberries!

So this mornings workout was pretty amazing. I wanted to get cardio in but didn’t feel like running or biking, and wanted to do some body weight training and do upper and lower body, so basically a little bit of everything. It was challenging and doable, and left me soaked in sweat and happy :)

Basically, taken from BodyRock’ s workouts I did:

1. 300 rep workout

- I moved through this fast to keep my heart rate up

- on my 2-3 min “break” I did lower ab lifts on the bench, grabbed some water, moved on

2. Set Fire Workou t

- this is a really good interval training workout that involves cardio and using body weight to build muscle

- after this I grabbed some water, took a quick break and moved on again quickly to:

3. Hot Body Workout

- again, good mix of cardio/body weight training with a focus on abs and upper body.. and legs. All of it!

The tree workouts combined with the short rests in between took me about 45 min. Usually I do each on their own, then either a HIIT run or weight lifting. Today was just one of those days I had a lot of energy and stress to burn off and needed another form of cardio besides the usual. Mixing it up is key in seeing results!! And have a rest day makes a difference in quality of workouts—so important!

Afterwards, I enjoyed a Mocha Protein Shake :

and now I’m off to clean :)

Question for today: Circuit training- fan or no? Do you do circuit workouts?

I’m definitely a fan, and if you haven’t tried them then click the Set Fire or Hot Body link and give it a try, and browse through their workouts for great ideas!
