I’m not a Mom, but then again I am a Mom. I’ve never given birth to a child, but I have two beautiful, grown step-daughters and two puppies that might as well be children. I fully understand the time restraints and scheduling conflicts that mothers adhere to and add to that professional lives and marital relationships and you’ve got a full-blown, busy lifestyle that leaves little time for yourself.
I would be lost without my calendar, and lists upon lists. I actually love lists. I am the list master. I think it is imperative to organize your life. If you don’t… you end up back-tracking and losing some of that all too valuable time. I say, often within my posts, that you have to make time for yourself and I truly believe that, if you do, you will find that you end up being more efficient at handling the daily demands upon your time and attention.
Taking a few moments here and there to re-group and make a list and even relax with a glass of wine and a journal, or take a bubble bath and listen to some relaxing music, will enormously improve not only you mood and attitude but will reduce your stress level and offer up a more enjoyable existence.
I have a calendar sheet that I made for myself in Microsoft Publisher that functions as a task organizer, appointment scheduler, daily journal, health and exercise log, and expense tracker…all on one sheet. I prefer hard copies to electronic. So I simply set up some margins to print the sheet front and back on 3-hole punch paper and insert them into my calendar binder. I adore it.
For all of you busy Moms out there I would suggest doing the same. Take a little time and fine tune a template for yourself that is pertinent to your life.
I finally figured out how to post a view of my daily calendar sheet for you to see what I'm talking about above. If you find it useful you are welcome to copy it and print it out for your own calendar. It is posted above in a separate post. I think if you click on it it will show on it's own page and you can print it.
