Note: This post was supposed to go up yesterday, but I fell asleep at my desk while writing it LOL! I guess that’s what 8 roller coasters will do to ya.
My fun filled day was almost a no-go with the gray skies blanketing the northeast yesterday. It looked like it was going to pour all morning, but my friends and I went with optimism and hoped that the day wouldn’t be a cold and wet one. We actually were excited because we figured it wouldn’t be to crowded in bad weather. We were right! When we arrived the parking lot was COMPLETELY empty. My friends and I got right in when the doors opened and headed to my favorite ride!!!
The Ride of Steel (we call it the Superman)
It is a 208 ft. drop at 70 degrees, followed by a 150 ft drop and a few other ariels! So fun. I love big drops….talk about butterflies in your stomach!
We rode it both times, sitting in the very front for both. But that’s when the rain started. It poured for about ten minutes and got pretty chilly. Luckily as we were making our way over to the next ride, the rain stopped and that was ir for the rest of the day.
Here were some of the other rides we went on today:
all wooden roller coaster
my friends minnie, gabby, and me
moto-coaster
our ride pics...i always love how funny they come out!!!

the only ride i sat out on all day....i get so sick on spinny rides. bleh!
I did get some funny pics of my friends though….just check out their faces!!!
I was laughing the entire time!
Darien Lake just opened up a new water park and when it got sunny out in the afternoon we were all over it! We went on tons of water slides and rafting rides….so refreshing in the heat. But on our last slide, right when we got to the top of the platform, something horrible happened. The whole slide complex was stopped, as a little girl who was too light to ride was flipped out of her tube and into the side of the slide. From what we saw and learned from the park workers, she had hit her head on and gone unconscious. Her mother who witnessed the accident from up top, grabbed a tube and went sliding down the slide as fast as she could. Luckily an ambulance got there rather quickly and the girl came back to consciousness as she was being loaded on. It was scary to see and we were stuck at the top of the slide tower for about an hour. It got HOT up there! After the ordeal, we finally were able to slide down and it turned out being the best run at the water park. It was fun….under the circumstances.
We found out later that the girl ended up being fine….just needing a few stitches.
All and all it was a great day! I love theme parks and its so nie to have one close to us. I will probably go back one or two more times before summer ends.
After we dropped my friends off at home, we came home had a dinner of leftovers (the black bean soup get better and better everyday). I had an awesome snack a little later as I watching HUGE on ABC Family….another good new show from that station!
Apricot heart thrive (cut into halves), pumpkin yogurt with Very Berry dried fruit blend, and some veg with humalsa dip. Still a little hungry so I sliced up a granny smith a bit later.
I have to go to work in an hour and then after I am taking one of my best friends out to dinner for her b-day! Then watching PLL. Tuesday= best night of the week
Have a great day guys!
