This week's workouts...happy daylight savings

Posted Nov 04 2012 7:58pm

Today in Chicago was the annual Hot Chocolate 15k race.  What was once a small race has turned into a very large chaotic race.  My running friends and I had been throwing around the idea of signing up but decided to save the $75 registration fee and save our time on Friday/Saturday of packet pickup and I mapped out our very own 15k.  I have to say it was the way to go!  We made a commitment to each other to run just a little further than our normal 7 mile weekly runs and it felt great!  Time and money saved, exercise and goal achieved!

Running with friends is one of my favorite things (things not just favorite type of exercise) to do.  Having someone to run with keeps you accountable, it is motivational, you get to spend quality time without distractions (no phones!) and in my opinion it is one of the most therapeutic things you can do for yourself.  So today I am thankful for my friends who not only run with me but they listen to me while we run.

After our run this morning the girls came up for some water and I had to share my discovery of Biscoff spread .  Words cannot describe my love for this product but I'll try...mouthwatering heaven in a jar.  One scoop of it and I can go from whatever mood I am in to happiness  It packs so much decadent and smoothness in its cookie flavor, stopping at 1 scoop is hard to do. I told lots of people about it this week and they ask what I put the spread on, and my reply was ,"a spoon."  I have seen lots of bloggers posting recipes using Biscoff but in my opinion it should be eaten alone because I would be afraid baking it with other ingredients would distract from its perfection.

I found it at Jewel-Osco,  but click on the picture and you can locate Biscoff near you.
