This post would be more interesting if I worked from home

I may be a beach girl at heart, but there are lots of things I love about fall: cozy sweaters, pumpkins and apples, exercising outside without fear of heat stroke, the upcoming holidays and a fresh start to a new year right around the corner.
I made some pumpkin and pear muffins over the weekend, which were actually pretty good but not quite post-worthy due to some texture oddities. I'll work on it again and see if I can put up something worth sharing soon.
The mom visit was quite a success over the weekend. That woman has more energy than I know what to do with! We walked everywhere, all day, and then came home and she'd be ready to walk the dogs! It was quite impressive, really. Also, the dogs were pleased.
I didn't get a "real" gym workout in while she was here. I won't use the old line of "I didn't have time". I had plenty of time between the hours of 5am-7am. I just chose not to get up at 5am everyday. Because I love sleeping. So, you know, it is what it is. At least we spent a lot of time walking.
One thing I hate about fall: my commute time since Labor Day has doubled. I want to punch people in the face every morning on the way to work now. It pretty much blows.
And speaking of work - it's just not letting up. I have to get back to it. I'm getting really excited for a trip home to MA in two weeks. Can't wait!
