THIS Is What I Would Want At My Wedding

Posted Jul 06 2013 8:05am

Pray for Kyle and me today because in a few hours we are headed to Cincinnati to shop at Ikea… oh it’s going to be crazy.  I just know I am going to want to buy every single thing in the store.

Right now, our entire house is furnished with odds and ends I found in my parents basement and a couch that Kyle’s brother-in-law gave us.  Nothing matches, we have zero bedroom furniture, but we don’t have the money to buy lots of stuff right now.

We need just a few pieces of furniture to get us by for about 5 years- so I hope the cheap stuff at Ikea will work!

I ran out of this cereal yesterday and I think my life will never be the same without it.

I loved this stuff I got from the FitBloggin conference .  Attune foods told me it would be in stores in November… so I just have to make it to November without it.

Blueberries were buy one get one free at the store so naturally I had to buy them!  The only problem is, it was buy 2 lbs get 2 lbs free, so I now have 4 lbs of blueberries.  I guess I will just have to eat 8 cups of them a day.  Oh well.

I also started the day with a grapefruit!  I hadn’t had a grapefruit in months and they looked so good at the store I couldn’t resist.  Only problem is, I have a small sore on my tongue and the acidity from the grapefruit did not feel good yesterday!  I think I will wait a few days before having grapefruit #2.

Kyle and I did some chores around the house yesterday and I studied for a while.  By 2pm I was ready to workout, so I put on Insanity Maximum Sports Intervals.  Yikes that one is tough!  I’m new to Insanity so I haven’t tried all the workouts, but most of the ones I’ve done so far are heavy cardio.  This one had quite a bit of resistance training that was so hardcore- I couldn’t do it all.

Maybe in a few weeks I will be stronger and I can tell you I dominated that video- goal set!

I MUST tell you about my colorful, flavorful summer lunch!  2 eggs, toast, mozzarella, basil, and tomato salad, snap peas, and watermelon!

The best part about yesterday was that Tara and Brian got married!!!  Brian and I have been really close friends since freshman year of college.  He was pre-dental, and I was pre-med and we both followed the exact same path to our professional programs.  We took the same classes, we both double majored in something non-sciencey (he Spanish, me English Literature), we both lived in his fraternity for 2 summers while studying for organic chemistry the first year and the MCAT and DAT the second year.  We laughed, we cried, you get it.

Tara and I didn’t know each other in college even though she went to Butler as well.  She and I have become friends in these past few years!  We both share a love of health and fitness.  She is a total badass body-pump instructor, fitness queen, health nut- she inspires me every day!  Also, we both blog!!  Tara blogs over at Treble In The Kitchen :-)

The ceremony was beautiful:

After the ceremony, we headed to the reception which was on the 21st floor and had this view:

Downtown Indianapolis is so majestic!  It reminds me of a square in Europe, minus the American flag in the building windows :-)

The reception started with drinks and hors d’oeuvres.

So many Butler friends were reunited and we had a blast catching up.

Dinner was some of the best wedding food I’ve ever had!  Really really good.

The salad had goat cheese and candied pecans- you can never go wrong there.

I ordered the salmon and thought it was perfectly cooked and not fishy at all.  Kyle loved his chicken:

After dinner it was time for dancing and the best part of the wedding….

If I was having a wedding I would DEFINITELY do this:

A cookie bar!

I can’t even tell you how yummy these cookies were.  All homemade too!  The oreo fudge cookies were my favorite, but the oatmeal raisin was a close second… obviously I had to sample them all to make an informed decision.

Kyle liked the cookies too!

It really was a wonderful wedding.  You could feel the love in the air, there were so many old friends there, just beautiful!

I had to get a picture with the bride and groom!  They were breaking it down on the dance floor but I stole them away :-)

I think I’ve mentioned this in a post before, but people ask me all the time about Kyle and my wedding.  We’re getting married on May 4th, 2014!!  We are having a ceremony in New Harmony, Indiana, in the same church Kyle’s parents were married.  We are inviting only parents, siblings, and grandparents to the ceremony.  We are not going to have a reception after.  Instead of a reception, we’re going on a 3 week honeymoon in Italy.

We are going to have a big couples shower/party this fall to celebrate with friends and family so we can register and get some presents so we can spend time together and celebrate!

Have you done Insanity? Love it? Hate it?

What’s your dream wedding?  Did you have a wedding?
