Remember the disastrous Japanese Rice Bowl (it tasted real bad!)? Well, I wasn't prepared to admit defeat, so I tackled it again... & again... & again. It got better each time, buuut, I still wasn't satisfied with what I was churning out, & seeing as I'd played with the seasoning, the amount of veg & the amount of rice, I figured it needed something extra: Prawns. The addition of our little, pink pals turned this dish into a real winner! I'll go as far as saying this is now one of my favourite dishes! The best part? It's super quick & easy to prepare.

Brown rice w/ steamed [from frozen] mixed veg & broccoli; kidney beans & fantail prawns. The winning deets are in the seasoning/ dressing. Dark soy sauce w/ freshly chopped [& also ground] ginger, garlic powder & a sprinkling of brown sugar. Sound weird? It did to me, but it's awesome!
That was last night's dinner, & the aforementioned sun-lounging was done so with this for company... Part of my goal to get back into reading & get through at least one book a week!More on that in a 'Healthy Update' to come :)(Grass needs a little love, but the rents are away & my finger's are far from green!) What I don't get is how I went from lounging in the sun, getting some colour & sweating it out to having to turn the heating on... in June... WHAT GIVES?! It was so hot, & now it's pouring down, grey & miserable. Sort it out June... you're supposed to be easing us into Summer! Have you guys persisted with a "failed" dish & found you got it spot-on in the end? I guess there's some cheesy moral relevant to living in there somewhere, too...
