Things I didn't share Friday 4-26

1.  MT surprised me with an apple fritter from The Peach Stand on Sunday as a much needed pick-me-up from the car accident.  It was the first one I’ve had since I was pregnant, and it was even better than I remembered. I kind of wish that I had one right now…

2.  Earlier in the week, a bunch of my mommy friends and their little ones joined us at the playground in my neighborhood for some playtime and a picnic.  It was so cute to watch the babies interact and observe each other- like Rugrats come to life!

3.  Remember how Michael fell asleep in the car right before Kindermusik last week?  Well, the same exact thing happened this week when we tried to go to Gymboree!  I’ve finally decided to quit signing him up for classes until he’s on a more predictable nap schedule.

4. Even though I rarely buy magazines, I couldn’t resist picking up the latest issue of Women’s Health with Keri Russell on the cover.  I used to idolize her when I was younger, and I felt thirteen again for getting excited about the issue.  The girl is looking great these days, isn’t she?  I wish that she’d bring back her mega curly hair though.

5. I consumed an insane amount of fresh veggies this week and have developed quite a love for bell peppers.  I love dipping them in salsa and hummus.  It’s a great snack!

What is your favorite snack these days?  Did you idolize anyone famous while growing up?

Happy Friday!

  1. My takeaway from this post: HOW does Keri Russell’s hair look like that?! And why?? I loved the curls! Seriously though that apple fritter and the peppers/hummus sound so good right about now.

    • I loved loved loved her curly hair back in the Babysitter’s Seduction/ Malibu Shores/ Felicity days and hate that she straightens it out now. Her curls were her trademark! Sending an apple fritter your way. :)

  2. I was such a huge Felicity fan back in the day, yay for Keri Russell! I wish that bell peppers did it for me as a snack, I just do not love the flavor. Macadamia nuts and I, however, have been enjoying each other’s company lately. Have a great weekend!

    • I love Macadamia nuts! I bought a can on our honeymoon in Hawaii to take back home and ended up eating the whole thing at the airport. They are not exactly low cal, but they do have lots of health benefits at least. :)

  3. I loved Keri’s curls too and thanks to Netflix my kids get to enjoy Rugrats too. :) I always (and still do) idolize Sarah Michelle Gellar. I was/am obsessed with BUffy the Vampire Slayer and hubby even bought all 7 seasons for me to enjoy anytime I want!!
Mine always fall asleep in the car, always! I use to plan my driving around naps, I can drop of mail at the post office, drive through at the bank, get lunch for me, all while they sleep then wake them up when we get to where we need to be!

    • Sarah Michelle Gellar has always been one of my girl crushes. When I was in college, I was driving in my car, and these two guys held up a sign that said “Are you Buffy?” and it literally made my life. Haha.

I need to order Rugrats from Netflix one of these days! I hate to admit it, but my little guy is already a big television fan.

  4. Your little man is such a great napper:) I think it is cool when your family and friends have babies around the same time, so they can grow up together plus you have a bulit in support group too! I enjoy snacking on fruits right now. Happy Friday – Happy Weekend

    • It is definitely wonderful to have friends with babies. It gives the babies some socializing, and it gives the mommies some adult interaction! Happy Friday- Happy Weekend to you too!

  5. Michelle

Keri looks amazing! Certainly can’t say the same for my former idol ;)

  6. Bell peppers rock! I love filling them with tasty things, toasting them just until hot, and digging it! (plus, it’s a great way to use up leftover rice or quinoa, and leafy greens that are on their way out).

Maybe your little guy is really soothed into sleep by the car ride itself? My boyfriend is like that….if he isn’t driving, he just passes out in the car as soon as we’re on the road!

    • I LOVE stuffing bell peppers too- especially with quinoa.

And my little guy is definitely lulled to sleep by the car, and he is a deep sleeper just like his daddy!

  8. Keri looks amazing! Wow. She gets better with age doesn’t she? I did love her curly hair back in the day, but really girl can’t go wrong. Have a great weekend!

  9. I’m with you on not signing up for classes until my son has a more consistent nap schedule lol!
