things i didn't share friday 1-3

1. MT and I were very low key on New Year’s Eve.  After I put Michael to bed, I made a pot roast, and we enjoyed a nice dinner in the dining room.  Since I’m not exactly in any condition to be drinking at the moment, I drank what I referred to all night as “fake wine” (or sparkling grape juice).  It wasn’t the same as the real thing at all, but I’ll make up for it next year. ;)

2. After our New Year’s Eve dinner, we made some popcorn (mine was drizzled in coconut oil of course) and watched Despicable Me 2.  If you’re a fan of the first one but haven’t seen the sequel, you really should because it was absolutely adorable!  I just love those Minions.

3. We usually wait to take our Christmas tree and other decorations down for a little bit, but this year, MT and I just couldn’t wait to rip them all down!  It’s probably because our house has been in such a state of disarray with the nursery prep, room switcharoos (wow, did I really just use the word “switcharoo”?), and empty boxes all over the place.  It feels so good to have the house back in order.  However, things are looking kind of bare now, and I’ve been in major decorating/nesting mode as a result.

4. I saw something on the other day that just about broke my heart.  Usually I am highly entertained by the cards, but they crossed the line when they dissed my Lionel!

5. If you’re a makeup lover like me, you may have heard of a little thing called the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette.  I had been absolutely dying to get my hands on it, but I promised myself that I wouldn’t order it until after Christmas.  I stuck to it and ordered the palette on Christmas Day.  After stalking the UPS truck for several days, it finally arrived earlier this week, and I’m totally in love with it.  The colors are gorgeous, and I can see myself using the heck out of it.

Do you take your holiday decorations down right away or do you leave them up for awhile?  Has anyone else tried the new Urban Decay palette?

Happy Friday!

  1. I started packing away some decorations the week between Christmas and New Year’s, but new year’s Day I took the tree down and finished the clean up. I’m happy to have my house back in order.

That is exactly how I feel (although my mom scolded me and said that I am supposed to wait until 1/6. LOL).

  2. I do not think Lionel needs to be slammed! I probably will put the decorations away this weekend or next. These weird work weeks with Wednesdays off has me a little disorganized lately – ha! Happy Weekend:)

The work weeks have been so confusing! I constantly keep forgetting what day it is. Have a great weekend! :)

  3. I am dying to get my hands on the naked 3 palette. I have heard nothing but good things about it and every store I have gone into has been sold out. Guess I will have to order on line.

Stopping by from the link up. Have a great weekend!

I ordered mine directly from UD, and I was so mad because when I went into my Ulta I saw that they had TONS of them in stock! Thank you for stopping by. Off to visit you! :)
