1st, thanks for the great comments on my Chance post . He’s back to his normal self and I’ve definitely learned how to handle this type of situation next time.
Now, onto current issues…I’m pretty sure I have some small amount of obsessive compulsive disorder. If I fixate on something that’s it. One track mind. I can think of nothing else. Most of the time this is actually a really good characteristic. Work, working out…but then sometimes it’s not so good like when I find a new product. There have been many phases of this – makeup, lotion, jeans, peanut butter, almond butter, protein powders, peanut flour…and now I can officially add in a few more. Coconut, tea and Perfect Food Bars.
The coconut isn’t exactly new. It’s been around for a while but since we’re going to Maui in about 3 weeks my need for all things coconut has been back with a vengeance. I stopped by my favorite lotion store to see if they had the Coconut Papaya lotion in stock. Nope. But they will if I come back next weekend. But I did manage to pick up some new coconut cream chapstick at New Seasons.
The tea obsession, while not specific to this week has been around since the start of the new year. In my quest to win the January Challenge I’ve tried to cut out caffeine and sugar and have found that having some tea in the afternoons is helping. But of course, I can’t just find one box of tea and drink it till it’s gone, no, I have to buy boxes and boxes. Seriously, I probably have 10+ boxes of different teas in the cupboard right now. Unfortunately, these two new flavors turned out not so tasty (which sucks because they were $10 a pop) so don’t buy them. My current faves are Trader Joe’s Candy Cane Green Tea (saving those for special occasions since it’s a holiday flavor) and Celestial Season’s Natural Detox (creamy vanilla flavor).
And Perfect Food Bars . I blame this lady for my problem. She kept posting about these bars on Instagram and finally I had to go check them out. Side note – go follow her blog. It’s fantastic. And now back to the bars – let me tell you. They are amazing. Basically like the inside of a Reese’s Peanut Butter cup but without all the added crap. In fact, these bars have over 20 whole foods and absolutely nothing fake. Each flavor has about 13-15 grams of protein, about 4 g of fiber and are gluten-free. I’ve had the peanut butter, almond butter and carob chip but they also have a cranberry crunch and fruit & nut. And if absolutely forced to choose I’d pick the PB as my favorite. I can’t get enough of these things. In fact right now there are none in my house and I’m going through withdrawals. Maybe I’ll swing into New Season’s before work…
So my friends. These are the things I am currently loving. What about you?
Any new things I should know about?
Any good teas I should try? I can always add more to my stash :)
