Oh Bloggies:
If you’re amongst the fortunate, you will experience many moments that will rock your world in the best of ways.
Getting into the program of your dreams, your wedding day, or taking a fantastic vacation. But a vegan lunch bowl!?! That was never on my list of things that I thought would rock my world!
In fact, being the animal protein lover that I am, I assumed (wrongly) that a vegetarian or vegan lunch bowl couldn’t be filling.
Enter The Whole Bowl in Portland.
Housed amongst Portland’s rows of food carts, The Whole Bowl is about as hippy dippy and unassuming as they come.
In fact, the busy lunch spot only serves one dish – The Whole Bowl .
The meal seems deceptively simple and healthy, which is why I thought that it wouldn’t be anything to write home write on the blog about. Wrong again.
I can only describe The Whole Bowl as crackalicious – a term that I don’t use lightly. And by that I mean that it’s completely delicious and unexpectedly addicting.
In fact, I don’t know if I was particularly starving that day or if I just love the taste but I was genuinely sad when my portion was over.
The brown rice, veggies, salsa, beans, and subtly spicy Tali sauce, made for an amazing combination.
If you every find yourself hungry in Portland during lunch, do yourself a favour and head on over to The Whole Bowl .
You can thank me later!
Make sure to come back tomorrow for my home-made recreation of The Whole Bowl – down to the all important Tali sauce that ties it all together!!!!!!!
Question: What is your favourite vegetarian or vegan meal? Or do you perhaps not care for vegetarian food?
