How do I know these ladies? Erin happens to be my amazing Friday night intenSati instructor and Erika teaches Deep Extreme (review coming soon) and Dance About It (I will be trying this one tomorrow!) at Equinox ! Margaret writes the amazing blog, Oneness. in the city . I had the pleasure of interviewing these lovely ladies getting the juicy details about the event!
Will I have to disclose everything about my love life to the group?
Absolutely not! In fact, this is an experiential workshop which will give you an opportunity to delve in and be with yourself. Of course we will leave room for sharing, although we imagine this will be more along the lines of insights throughout the day or questions about the teachings. This is a private, sacred space and we welcome you to come as you are.
What inspired you to do this event?
Mags wrote a blog at the beginning of the year last year about letting go of looking for love, which turned out to be wildly popular. Men: My 2011 Minimalist Manifesto . Although she was declaring empowerment and freedom from men (and followed through on that promise to herself) by mid-summer she had more suitors than she knew what to do with. In hindsight she realized there was a set series of spiritual principles that she unknowingly used to draw in love. These are those principles.
What made the three of you decide to work together and hold this workshop?
We have all been terrific friends for some time. (Margaret + Erika went to college together- Erika + Erin taught at Equinox together + strangely, Margaret + Erin grew up down the street from each other not knowing it. Meant to be?)
Of course you want to work with people you fiercely admire and love. We always resonated on so many levels, style, soul, ease, focus, positivity, fun and growth… we knew it would only be a matter of time before we found something to collaborate on.
All three of us also have the same spiritual teachers– this gifts us with a deep understanding of life and love, but also a shorthand with each other since we each support our beliefs.
There are 3 of you, what is each of your unique contributions?
Margaret is deliciously witchy in the metaphysical world. She has extensive experience with spiritual technologies and healing on an unconscious soul level. Mags has had years of practice– she’s the gal that lived in India and hangs with monks. She shows how to make life more divine.
Erin is highly intuitive and reads minds. Well, not really, but she kind of does. As a coach, her gift is identifying beliefs and thought patters that hold you back. She can spot them a mile away and will help you to see it. She also presents all her enlightening tools in the most loving, sassy way, so it’s never too serious and heavy.
Erika brings to the table her knack for heartfelt movement. A dancer, choreographer and fitness pro, she has not only a deep understanding of how the body works, but also how the body FEELS when you are truly free. Erika’s jam is creating safe space for dancers and non-dancers alike so they can explore physical blockages, figure out where those nasty blockages come from, and shake them out of the system, all while building confidence. In Erika’s eyes, every human is a dancer, and it is her personal goal to bring it OUT!
What sets this apart from other workshops?
As we said above, this is an experiential day. No matter how many books, tapes, webinars one may ingest, there is something remarkably special about showing up in a room of willing others. The type of energetic work done here can only be done in person. Half the battle of getting past the mind and into the heart is finding a place where you can feel safe and comfortable. If you are a soulful New York gal, who wants to hear it straight, but to hear it with love, this is your tribe. Who wants to feel sexy and alive and have fun and doesn’t think that needs to be separated from her ‘spiritual’ side, and in fact, wants to merge those aspects of herself? This is the workshop for you.
What can I expect to get out of this workshop?
A renewed sense of empowerment and self-love. Freedom from past relationships that may be preventing you from bringing love into your life. A crystal-clear bat-call to the Universe for exactly WHO and WHAT you want. A leap forward in your level of consciousness that will provide ease in every aspect of your life.
What kind of activities will we be doing?
There will be movement, writing exercises, led meditations, intimate rituals and loads of silliness.
I don’t think I will ever fall in love. Is this workshop right for me?
It is those kinds of statements that this workshop is specifically designed to bulldoze. If you don’t want to fall in love, then bless you and go on with your sweet self! But if you are yearning for partnership, and something scares you about it, this is absolutely the place for you.
I’ve already found the love of my life. How will this workshop help me?
We have people attending who are already in relationship! All this workshop can do is strengthen any relationship you already have. Imagine if you always approached your other not from a place of lack or blame, but from deep respect for the both of you. This comes up in the teensiest arguments, not just the big stuff! When we act negatively in relationship, we are acting from past hurts or current neediness. You’re better than that. Why not make it smooth sailing from here on out? And your partner will be so turned on by your newfound sizzle… you’ll be happy that Valentine’s is just around the corner
Thank you ladies for allowing me to interview you! The event sounds amazing and I hope that some of my NYC readers can make it. I know we all could use a little more love in our life!
