Last night I got back into my routine and took a 6:30 yoga class. I’m serious when I say that I am falling in love with yoga. It’s definitely something that I am going to keep incorporating into my fitness schedule. I am going to a very small studio right now and I really like it, but unfortunately they have a very few classes that fit with my schedule. However, Monday nights work perfectly so I am keeping those for a while!
Moooving right along…
Today I headed to the gym hoping to complete 4 miles on the dreadmill and then a BodyPump class. Of course I had to do it in my Valentines Day attire:
Well, I did 3.2 miles and a BodyPump class. I don’t know why, but I just couldn’t finish that .8. My right knee was killing me and I knew I had an hour long ‘Pump class to complete, so I hopped off the treadmill and headed to class. Luckily I did that, because had I not, I probably wouldn’t have gotten a spot in class, it was full!
After my run and class I headed home to stretch, foam roll and ice. I went to Lululemon the other day and was talking with one of the sales associates and we got on to the subject of my knee. She told me to freeze water in a paper cup and then tear back the cup and rub the ice on my knee. She said that it isn’t comfortable (it’s not), but that it’s effective. So I went ahead and gave it a try. Masey was very helpful and licked up all the dripping water.
Definitely iced (read: numbed) my knee! Hopefully I’m feeling good tomorrow.
Since my human Valentine is working late tonight, I decided to do something nice for my furry one. Masey LOVES Frosty Paws (you know, the dog ice cream? You can buy it at the grocery store), but they are expensive and have quite the long list of ingredients.
I figured that I would make some good, dog healthy, homemade Frosty Paws! I bought:
- 32 oz organic fat-free yogurt (you can read why yogurt is good for dogs here )
- 1/4 cup creamy natural peanut butter (you can read why pb is good for dogs here )
- 8 oz blueberries (you can read why blueberries are good for dogs here )
- 1 banana (you can read why bananas are good for dogs here )
- 1/4 c flax seeds (you can read why flaxseeds are good for dogs here )
I threw all that stuff in a blender
Poured it into some paper cups and put them in the freezer (ps – I doubled the recipe which is why there are so many cups).
Simple, easy and delicious (oh yes they are!). I think she likes them just as much as she likes Frosty Paws!
Yes, you can call me a crazy person, I don’t care.
Do you make food for your pet?
