the blog is 2! {giveaway}

Posted Nov 13 2012 12:00am

I vividly remember pulling my debit card out of my wallet two years ago today. It’s funny how some seemingly small moments can be so memorable, isn’t it? Twenty five numbers and one click of the “Purchase” button later, I was the proud owner of the little blog domain, nutritionella.com. I clearly had no problems navigating the purchasing process with all of my online shopping experience but other than that, I had no header, no content, and zero knowledge of blogging.

What I did have was a fancy camera with a broken lens, a passion for healthy living, whole foods, fitness and fashion. Two years later, I have a blog that looks, feels and reads how I imagined it would one day. I also have a functional camera lens!

This is all well and good and is something I’m very proud of but let me be clear.

This would all mean nothing if it weren’t for YOU guys!

I can never say it enough but thank you readers, new, old, regular commenters and behind-the-scenes Google Reader subscribers who have been following along and inspiring me to live healthier and better every single day. Blogging’s been a pure joy for the past two years because of YOU. And don’t you forget it.

Last year the blog and I got a fun new kitchen toy to celebrate birthday number one . This year I thought it’d be fun to return the love you’ve shown me over the past 24 months so I lined up not one, but three giveaways this week. This first one is for you ladies.

Fine Featherheads Giveaway

Flyties2

Flyties5

I recently received a couple of packs of these cute Fly Ties and Fly Bands  from Fine Featherheads test out. From one baby-fine haired girl to another, let me tell you I’m loving these headbands and ties. The material is perfect because it doesn’t tug, snag or damage your hair.

The headbands are a little bit wider and tighter than your standard band, which means they fit us small-headed girls. YAY! I think I’ve only lost mine once during an intense workout so far and that was with my hair slicked back in a ponytail – not bad considering I’m usually adjusting my headbands every 2 minutes or so just to keep them from falling off.

The ties are awesome because there’s no metal to snag or pull your delicate hair. They’re also much more resistant to stretching and snapping than your standard hair ties. Loose and low or high and tight – they’re great for both kinds of ponytails.

What I also loved about them was the array of colors I had  to choose from when selecting my samples to try. I went for the Vintage  Bands and Meadow Ties and had a hard time deciding on just two.
