The Art of Happiness

Posted Feb 01 2011 4:08pm
There has been a lot of talk this week surrounding the subject of true happiness.  Do you have it or not? Apparently this is what the Government is trying to find out.  The powers that be are planning on spending a lot of money to survey us for the real answer.

So, what makes us happy? According to scientists who took part in 2008′s Happiness Project its friends/family, life goals/meaning, and marriage (this part could be debatable …apart from in my case of course ( ; - love you hunny!!).

Back in 2011, the BBC have been running a slot on their morning show called ‘The Happiness Challenge’ – enabling us all to bring more joy into our lives.  There are simples actions they ask you to follow: be mindful (do less and notice more), be grateful (remember the good things), and be kind (do things for others). I am a big believer in meditation and karma and know that great things can happen out of doing good.  Therefore, this challenge really reminded me of  the path that led me to marvelously turning my whole life around on its head until I found my true meaning…

My happiness happened through the art of giving.  I was inspired by a movement called the 29-Days Giving Challenge (click here  and search for sjgreensey to read my full story) in which you are asked to do something good everyday for 29 days straight. Sounds simple, but the results are extraordinary.  By giving to others, you give to yourself and spread kindness to all.  It worked for me… and I couldn’t feel more enlightened, blissful and loved.  Try it for yourself and let me know how you get on .x.

Contact me at www.livingforce.co.uk to find out more, or for help on practising mindful meditation…
