Got this great idea from blogger Amanda T over at Downtown DIY to try working out every day for 21 days in order to make exercise a habit. I’ve been using the lousy weather in Chicago as an excuse to avoid working out the last two weeks, and the scale has gone up to prove it. It’s time to get back to the gym with a serious dedication.
Breaking my 10 pound promise to myself this month is not an option. No way. So I have decided to take on Amanda’s challenge myself.
Last night was Day 1 of my challenge, and I finally made good on another promise to myself. I switched gyms, moving from a super corporate, super pushy and annoying gym and back to the first gym I ever joined when I moved to the Chicago area. The personal trainers at the gym I am now enrolled in are absolutely great and notorious for putting their clients results — not the gym’s wallet — in mind first.
So I signed up for the gym, two preliminary personal training sessions, and attacked the hill and bike portion of the fight or flight plan before hitting the elliptical trainer for 20 minutes.
