The 100 Squats a Day April challenge is whooping my butt into shape! I missed one day, I’m not going to lie, but I’m adding an extra day onto the end of the month to make up for it - nobody’s perfect! ;) My usual time is between at 3 to 4 minutes depending on the day. Yesterday’s was 3:02! :)
This weekend I also went to an advanced yoga workshop with the founder of Pranalife Yoga ; Asia Nelson . I have to say I learned a lot about discovering and engaging those deep abdominal muscles and how to use them properly and effectively in a variety of balancing and strength postures. I also took another baby step towards conquering my fear of inversions and I rocked my first Sirsasana or headstand during the class with Asia’s guidance and assistance. I fell once, it was pretty funny actually. ;p
I’ve now tried twice to gracefully lift my legs from the preparatory sort of dolphin pose up into the full, and man alive I am never doing a boring old crunch again! I have never in my life had such a great, deep ab workout as just TRYING to lift my legs into headstand! Hahaa, I’m glad I’m enjoying it though, handstand is still an fearful pose for me, so I’m going to enjoy experimenting with the Queen of yoga poses first!
Hope you guys all had a great weekend too! Happy Monday! :D
