That's a Wrap.

Posted Feb 09 2011 5:38pm
Have I mentioned that I think Thanksgiving is the greatest holiday ever created. It is everything anyone could ever want.

Here's a little run down of how the Hersh's do Thanksgiving

6:15 AM- Mama, Grandma and Lee are wide away and scheming the days activities. Breakfast is eaten and a lot of coffee is consumed.

7:00 AM- Turkey Lurkey is stuffed and buttered up.

7:10 AM- Turkey Lurkey drinks a glass of Chardonnay.

7:30 AM: Turkey Lurkey enters the oven.

8:00 AM - 9:30 AM: Lee does homework and takes study breaks every so often to chop and stir. The table is set!

10:00 AM- 11:00 AM: Quick trip to the gym

11:15 AM: Eat a quick, light snack

11:30 AM- 12:30 PM: Aimlessly wander and get ready!

1:00 PM- 2:00 PM: Assist Mom and Grandma in the Kitchen

2:00 PM: Guests arrive and craziness continues in the kitchen.

3:30 PM: Daddio makes a toast and dinner is served!!

After dinner the kids clean and do the dishes while the adults mingle over drinks. About an hour after dinner, dessert is served!
I had a piece of apple pie, some ice cream, and lots of fruit! There is an amazing bakery in Chicago called Deerfield Bakery that my Aunt buys her pies and coffee cake from. Delish!

The rest of the night is pure family time. This year, we missed my Mom's side of the family :( They couldn't make it.
Hooray for a successful Turkey Day!
Ps---Black Friday was also a major success. My Mom, Shell and I were out and about by 7 AM! We hit up Sports Authority and Gap!

Who's excited for leftovers??
