Thankful for… YOU!

Posted Apr 28 2011 6:30pm

Happy Thursday Friends!! Thanks so much for your quick repsonses on how to fix my “no comment problem”.

I love how so many bloggers tend to do “series” blogs on certain days of the week.  In all honesty – it just makes everything easier!  You know that there are certain days of the week – where your blog topic is already planned and set to go!  I most often see “Thankful Things Thursday”  on Ali’s Blog  .. and every time I read it – I think it is such a fabulous idea.  It also allows me to reflect on the things that I am thankful for at the same time.

So – instead of just using self-reflection as a form of my thankfulness – I am going to write about them.  If nothing else, it will allow YOU to think of the things that you are thankful for too. Sometimes, we get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives – that we don’t get a chance to stop and consider all the the things we DO have going for us – and all of the things we are LUCKY to have!

So, this week,

I am thankful for my readers (yes, you guys). It has been a solid 2 weeks in the blog world for me.. and your constant support, comments, suggestions – have made me feel more then welcome – and allowed me to see that maybe I DO have a space in the blog world.. and people DO want to hear what I have to say!

I am thankful for warmer weather and longer days. It finally feels like we have turned the corner up here in CT – and spring is in the air.  You know, waking up every morning when it is pitch black – and arriving home when it is pitch black can be rather depressing.  Now- It is almost light when I wake up in the morning. And the sun shines into our living room long after I have arrived home.  I DON’T need to start my car long before getting in it to drive. I can go outside without 50 million layers on. I can smell spring. I can feel spring. I can see spring. THANKS, SPRING!

I am thankful for being able to spend time with my parents and brother. Honestly – I had such an AWESOME time when I was home this weekend.  The fam and I shared so many laughs – and truly just enjoyed being with one another.  When I was still living at home, I would spend hours shacked up in my room – not really wanted to hang around. But now- the only time I go to my room – is when it is time for bed!  As I am getting older, I am learning to appreciate the time I spend with people much more. I am so thankful to have such wonderful parents and a wonderful brother – who are oh-so-willing to spend their precious time with me.. eat my crazy concotions, do everything possible to accomdate my eating habits.. and now.. read this here blog!

My first ever teacher gift! :)

I am thankful that for my kiddies. Okay – so technically they are not mine. But I can still pretend (don’t tell their real parents).  Each and every one of my students brings a smile to may face every day (even though they can make my blood boil too).  Earlier in the week, I thought one of my students might not be returning to my class after spring break — going to another school.  To my surprise – my heart dropped. All I could think of is how I may never see him again – not even to give him well wishes.  Thankfully – it was just a rumor.. because he bounced himself right back into my classroom yesterday! I am thankful that I will be finishing out my year with ALL of my little babies! (who have gotten so big in such a short amount of time!)

Seriously..what's not to love?!

I am thankful for my amazing boyfriend who puts up with my moods, my comments, my snappiness (note: you may see this one up here a lot.. because he puts up with A LOT!). Sometimes, I seriusly thinks he deserves a medal or something for being so patient with me – even on my worst of days.  Instead of a medal, I am just going to praise him on my blog – and maybe make him some brownies :)

I am thankful for my new garmin. It has changed my running style and really amped up my work outs.  One day, I know I am going to say “I don’t know how I ever ran without this!”

B-A-N-A-N-A-S

Finally, I am thankful for BANANAS.  I mean.. how can I not be thankful for bananas.  They complete my life.  When I am out of bananas, I feel empty – like there is a piece of me missing!  I would be totally find having as many bananas as pictured above in my house right now. (It would be difficult to move, so I could just eat my way around).

Take a moment. Breathe. Stop and smell the roses. Why are you thankful today?

(I know we are all thankful that after we lay our heads down tonight.. we will awake on.. FRIDAY!)
