TGIF and Friday Treats for You

Posted Mar 05 2010 10:08pm

A long week over!  Yay!

Thanks for the running group feedback.  I will have more info out by the end of the weekend.  I think this might be a great time to look into google wave, but we’ll see!  Running. Holla.

Is anyone seeing Alice in Wonderland tonight?  Let me know what you think!

I just watched the first episode of the new season of Real Housewives of NYC.  Wow. Total trashtastic is all I have to say! …but the even better.  I can’t wait until Monday!

Here are a few Friday treats for ya’ll:

First, the Progresso Souper New You Prize Pack–soup, a great soup bowl, and a jump rope!  Just leave a comment and I will pick a winner on Monday morning!

Progresso Light Prize Pack 12.2.09 (1)

You still have until March 15th to enter big the contest for the chance to win a trip to NYC for a full makeover!

I have been enjoying my Progresso soups .  They are not as rich as the regular versions (such as my beloved minestrone), but they are perfect when I need a low-calorie, high volume snack or light meal that will hold me over until a more indulgent meal out.

Free Yoga Class Opportunity!

I was asked to extend the opportunity to try out some free yoga classes to readers!

There are two choices:

Wednesday mornings at 7AM in Midtown West and Saturday evenings at 6PM near Astor Place at the Atmananda studio.  If you want to try out a free class, send me an email ( ) and I will get you the contact info!

Ask Anything Response: Spinning Studios

I was asked about good pay per class spinning studios below 14th street.  The only pay per class spinning that I know of below 14th is the new Soul Cycle Tribeca .  My spinning instructor attends this studio and LOVES it!  He is incredible, so I trust his opinion.  :)

Spinning studios are pretty expensive, so if you wanted to just take a class at a gym, the cost of a day pass to Crunch or New York Health and Racquet is less than or equal to the cost of a class at Soul Cycle.  Also Printing House Gym offer a free 5 day trial, so you could take a few spinning classes and check out some of their other offerings as well.  I actually really want to check out their  Body Pump and Will Power and Grace classes! Maybe next week!

QUESTION FOR YOU!  What to do in Boston?

Now my question for you FABULOUS people.  As I mentioned, I will be in Boston for  4 WHOLE DAYS in March.  What should I do?  Restaurants, workout classes, museums, markets? Please offer anything you think I will enjoy.  I am quite scared to leave my precious NYC for so long all by myself! I am staying in Copley Square.  Is it easy to get to the Charles for a run from there?

I have done Quincy, the Freedom Trail, the Isabella Gardner and Fine Arts Museums, but anything new you could suggest would be great.  Healthy restaurants preferred!

The ING NYC Marathon

NYC Marathon Lottery closes on March 15th (my birthday)!  Apply now!

Early reminder: the Nike Women’s San Fran Lottery opens April 5th.  Don’t miss it! It’s only a 11 day window!

If you are looking for some new workout musicLittle Boots just released her new album on March 2nd, check it out! Gena and I went to the concert on Tuesday.  It rocked.  Little Boots was channeling Lady Gaga via multiple crazy costume changes!

If you are new to Little Boots, my top workout picks are:
