Tervis Water Bottles vs CamelBak

Posted Feb 09 2012 6:47am

Good morning! Happy Thursday! One day closer to the weekend! Today will hopefully be a productive day at work, followed by my workout, and then a Premier jewelry party at my friend A’s house. Always fun to get together with the girls and look at shiny, sparkly things!

If you missed yesterday’s post where I questioned chip time vs gun time, you can check it out here . There is a great discussion going on over on my Google+ page here . The commenters (Eric and Kristy) both work with the Knoxville Track Club . Very interesting to learn more about chip time & gun time. Glad I asked the question.

Lookie what I got yesterday:

Just Say CHEESE

Just Say CHEESE

I LOVE cheese – especially Smoked Gouda from Sweetwater Valley Farms . Yes, I know this is a HUGE block of cheese, but it was the only size available. They advised that I should store in an airtight container to keep it as fresh as long as possible.

Tervis vs CamelBak

Tervis vs CamelBak

Late last year, I learned of Tervis Tumblers . Since then, I have bought three tumblers and use them all almost daily. So, I was quite excited when they announced Tervis Water Bottles. I immediately ordered two, one for hubby and one for me, and then blogged their arrival .

After almost a month, I can say I am extremely disappointed in my Tervis Water bottle (shown on left). I love the designs, the look, and the feel of them. But they are not near as convenient and user-friendly as my CamelBak bottle (shown on right) when working out.

While I can open the Tervis with one hand while walking, I cannot close it with one hand. With the CamelBak, you just bite and drink – which means you just need one hand. Also, the Tervis does not fit into my bike’s water bottle holder. The CamelBak has no lid – which is very convenient. The Tervis lid flops around.

With my Tervis Tumblers, I put ice in it when I leave for work (around 7:30) and still have ice when I leave for lunch (around 11:30). With the Tervis Water Bottle, I put ice in our bottles, drove 30 minutes to a race, and the ice was all melted.

So, the CamelBak wins for workouts – elliptical, biking, walking, etc. The Tervis wins for beauty and having so many different designs, but the water bottle seems lacking. However, I do highly recommend the Tervis Tumblers – they are fantastic at keeping cold cold and hot hot.

Today’s talking point: What is your favorite water bottle?

Have a great day! Make it awesome!
