What do you do when you’ve got no trees, a square building and a council requirement to screen overlooking second-story spaces? Why, you tattoo the windows, of course.

Well that’s what the resourceful folk of Andrew Maynard Architects did when faced with this challenge at a place in Fitzroy, Australia – and it won them a couple of tidy awards including best renovation/addition with the Master Builders association.

Using UV stable stickers to create a nature inspired effect:

“The tree supergraphic creates playful and ever-changing shadows across the interior spaces and is composed of images taken in the local park.”

So they might not move and dance on like regular tree shadows, but you don’t you agree that this gorgeous dappled effect is worth bottling? I do!
