SWIMSUIT SAVVY FOODS - PINEAPPLE

*Yes, that's my cute husband grilling our favorite summer-time meal...BBQ'd shrimp and pineapple. I just so love that guy!*

Pineapple, to me, is better than candy! I LOVE IT! But, of course, I have to moderate myself on it because of the high sugar content - not to mention the canker sores that acompany this tasty treat.

But, hey, if you are gonna eat something with high sugar content - pineapple is the way to go!

We love to BBQ our pineapple! We lightly brush it with a little olive oil and a small sprinkle of cinammon and slap em' on the grill. Mmm...so good!

Here are some HEALTH BENEFITS of pineapple:
*Pineapple provides an excellent source of vitamin C, manganese, vitamin B1, fiber, vitamin B6, copper, and magnesium.
*It is effective for digestion and reducing inflammation.
*The enzymes also break down mucus in respiratory conditions, such as pneumonia and bronchitis.
*The enzymes also have have effective anticancer properties.
*Since pineapple provides an excellent source of manganese, it is beneficial in energy production.
*It is soooo yummy! :)
