Today, I was expecting to get up, go to the gym and go to work.
Instead, my on-call shift was cancelled, and my boyfriend and I enjoyed a rare Sunday together.
The chilly Boston wind prompted us to duck into a dim sum restaurant in Chinatown for a late lunch, where I ordered the biggest, noodle-iest bowl of won ton soup I’ve ever seen. Then we took to the cluttered little stores to buy party supplies for my 25th birthday — which is just four days away! Unreal. I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my last Sunday as a 24-year-old: with the man I love, a cozy meal, and an adventure in our new city.
The littlest things are too easily overlooked, and so often the most special. One of my new year’s resolutions is to savor each one. You should do it, too!
