Sunshine, a smoothie #recipe, & photos of presence.

Posted Mar 06 2013 6:30am

I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday. I swore today was Monday…until I was gratefully reminded that my best friend will be on her way down from Connecticut tomorrow! With that said, I’ve got a few fabulous guest posts lined up for while I’m away. (I’m actually prepared for this little break of mine! I’m all about being present, remember? More on that in a few.) Today, though, I wanted to catch up on some things that have me smiling lately. :)

Some of you have caught on Facebook and on Twitter that I have someone new in my life…

Sunshine Blog

Meet Sunshine. :) We made a quick trip down to Raleigh this past weekend to pick this sweet girl up. She’s a rescue, of course, and we’re pretty sure she’s been abused. We have little boo-boos every time anyone goes to reach over top of her to touch her above her tail. Poor girl’s afraid of cars, but she’s super fond of the girls. She is a dream, and I mean that. No whining at night. She holds it until morning, holds it until we get home, and has only had a couple of accidents in the house. No serious chewing problems. She’s extremely obedient. I can’t get over it…she’s been the easiest pup! She’s 18 weeks old and we’re almost 100% sure she’s a yellow lab-beagle mix. Her spots are coming in, so we’ll see!

Tee hee hee.

I’ve discovered the best smoothie ever. How many of you here love girly mixed drinks when you’re out? (If and when I ever drink, my three faves? Mudslides, piña coladas, and the ever-hilarious-to-order sex on the beach. Figures. Sugar. Sugar. Sugar. Haha.) I’ve been whipping up this smoothie for pre-run fuel for the past week, and I’m in love.

I know this month’s theme is supposed to go for the greens, but I haven’t come up with a good one yet. I suppose you could add some spirulina to this bad boy and it’d work! ;)

You all know I’m a photographer. Well, most of you do, and if not, now ya do. Hehe. I’ve been wanting to share more of my love of the art with you all recently, and I gathered up a little bit of a hopefully great idea that I posted on Facebook .

Every Friday on my Facebook page , I’d like to post a snapshot I’ve taken of my life that week. Just an in-the-moment snapshot of something that made me feel joyful and healthy. Healthy isn’t only about fitness and nutrition, so you won’t be seeing just a hodge podge of that. Here’s the twist: I want you to join the fun, share your moments of being present, and be able to promote your blogs and/or pages, too! The rules:

  1. Snap a photo of anything, in-the-moment, that makes you feel joyful and healthy.
  2. Share your photo here on my Facebook page along with the links to your Facebook page and your blog (if you have one), to help promote your pages!
  3. Share each Friday’s post on your Facebook page/wall to help get more people to join in! Make sure you check out the other photos for the day!

What do you think? If you want in, just head to my page , share your photo on my wall, and have fun!

Alright, y’all. It’s time for me to finish getting ready for Trouble to arrive, haha, so I hope you all have a great rest of the week!! Be sure to check out the guest posts for me and be ready to enter a giveaway for a free half marathon entry!!!
