What is it about Sunday night that is so relaxing. True, when I’m working, Sunday night always gives me a bit of back-to-work anxiety, but despite that, I’ve always found there is something calming about Sunday night. Great night for a bath, for painting your nails, plucking your eyebrows, putting your jammies on early… ahh Sunday.
I’m currently amazed at how busy my weeks feel, even though I’m not working. I kind of thought mat leave would feel like vacation – no regard for days of the week etc. But it’s not like that (obviously). Monday morning I’m fresh and ready to go. By Wednesday I’m feeling kind of worn down. Thursday the weekend excitement begins and by Friday I’m thoroughly worn out and ready for the weekend. It’s funny how the same cycles of fatigue and stuff play out even when I’m not working.
Anyhow, now that it’s Sunday night, I’m thinking back to what I accomplished this week. I’m really trying hard to stay fit during this pregnancy and to get into a good routine of eating healthfully and staying active so that the old butt doesn’t grow out of control! It’s already started to push the limits of my pants, so I gotta get it in check before it goes too far!
- Monday: felt great because I went to spinning class and really enjoyed the teacher who teaches that day.
- Tuesday: didn’t go to stroller boot camp because of some logistical problems. Boo Nikki.
- Wednesday: Back on track and tried a new fitness class called Bosu Blast. Cool class, but I gotta get some more stable aerobics type shoes before I do anymore of that stability work.
- Thursday: Intended to go to a fitness class of some sort, but failed and hit two playdates and tv date instead. Oops.
- Friday: Back on track for the end of the week and went to a wicked stroller boot camp class and sweated my butt off. She made us bench press our babies so my pipes are looking wicked!
Anyhow, my intention is to do something active, like a class or a long walk, for every day during the week. And, if I skip a day, the plan is to try and make it up on the weekend – which I failed at doing this week. I’m not going to be unrealistic and say I can’t have any treats to eat, but I’m trying to make better choices and simply reduce the bad snacking. Trouble is, tummy’s been feeling weird lately and greasy, heavy stuff feels the best. Oops. Consumed one bag of chips, one bag of Cheetos and one lunch at Wendy’s this week, but not all on the same day. Hmm, will have to work on that next week.
Oh well, at least Marcus is eating healthy these days…
On tap for this week I’ve got a new class on Monday night, some boogie-dance-something-or-other class at Gold’s Gym where my friend teaches and is giving us free passes. I’d really like to hit two spin classes this week and then I’ve got my boot camp on Friday and possibly Tuesday as well. It’s surprising how much better, and how much more ‘myself’ I’ve been feeling since I started working out more again. I’m even feeling like I could likely add a short run or two each week, but we’ll have to test that out and see how it goes.
Happy Sunday night!
