Suncycle Studios in Forest Hills

Posted May 08 2013 9:59am

There is a new spin studio in town called Suncycle Studios . For anyone that lives in Queens, you probably would agree that there are not many decent gyms in the area, and there are absolutely no spin studios at all. The only gym around is New York Sports Club , and I hear that it is nearly impossible to get a spin bike there. As many of you know, I got my Schwinn Indoor Cycling certification a couple of months ago and have actively been looking for a place to teach. This is when I realized how few spins studios there are in Queens, until I discovered SunCycle Studios. I immediately knew I had to try a class there to see if it would be a good place to teach.

The studio is very convenient for me, just one subway stop or a 20 minute walk away.

It is located inside the mini-mall on 71st Ave, in a private little walkway.  Oh, and it just so happens to be across from The Lite Choice , not sure if that is a good or a bad thing. You all know how much I love my fro-yo!

The studio is very cute, clean, and not overcrowded like some spin studios (ahem NYSC). It has 25 bikes and weights, and  as a bonus, there is always someone walking around sanitizing the bikes before and after class!

If you do plan on taking a class at Suncycle, I would recommend changing into your gym clothes before you come. There is no locker room, but there is a restroom outside in the mini-mall if you do need to change. The studio sells water, spin shoes, heart rate monitors. There are also clean towels that you can borrow. I’ve taken class with 3 of the instructors and loved every single class! Each instructor has a different style and they will all kick your butt. I especially love that we use weights in many of the classes. I am always in favor of working on my arm and back muscles!

You can try your first class for free, so you should try mine on Sundays at 12:00 pm! Yes, I am teaching at Suncycle!

I taught my first class last Sunday and it went really well. I am so excited to start teaching there weekly!

All sweaty after teaching my first class!

I would definitely recommend trying a class at Suncycle (even if it is not mine). You will love the amazing instructors and you will get an awesome 55 minute, kick-ass workout.
