Its finally summer… My favorite time of year because the “school-limitations” relax and the free time is priceless. One of the things i look forward to when school lets out is the morning workouts, I remember last year waking up at 6:00am, running to my home gym downstairs with a protein shake and listening to kiss Fm’s morning show while lifting. It was kinda funny because id sometimes listen to the show rerun because of my long morning lifting sessions. After the workout i felt great, it was usually around 8:30-9:00. i would go on my deck and breathe in the nice summer air and talk to my mom who always woke up around 7:00. She always made me a cup of coffee with a peanut butter pita “1tbs of peanut butter on whole wheat bread” and we would talk about what were doing today. Then my day started. This was a really fun part of my summer vacation. This was my typical summer morning.
My first summer vacation of 2008 i went to a gym in rehoboth beach called “The Body Shop”. It was a small colorful gym with nice people. I bought a personal trainer for a week “my first trainer ever”. He showed me many cool workouts and made me a diet outline so i can get a better idea of how my diet should be. He inspired me because of his knowledge, but also because we shared interests in surfing and gave me some nice locations. That was a really cool experience and i cant wait to see him next time i go to rehoboth beach!
My second summer vacation was to Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida. We stayed in a resort called The Beach Club, it was a cool resort with a pool and not far from the entrance of Epcot, this was really nice because we always got in some last minute shopping and got the see the fireworks across the lake. The resort had a small gym called “Ship Shape”. The gym had good equipment and had a spa. I lifted in the gym for a few days before we ventured out into the parks. It was pretty cool because Kurt Warner was lifting in the gym as well. I didn’t say anything to him because i didn’t want to either disrupt his workout or get in a long conversation and mess up my workout. But all in all Disney does have good fitness equipment and great resort gyms. I wouldn’t mind doing the Disney Marathon sometime down the road as well.
After the vacations i continued my home workouts until the first day of school came and i had to change my workouts back to 3:00 in the afternoon “until next week!” Summer 2009 is here!
