Greetings from Aruba! I finally made it! A week of chillaxation and a break from the real world! Woo-hoo, I need it! It’s going to be a busy June with moving and job transitioning. Pretty sweet views from our balcony, right?
However, while I am enjoying every drop of Aruba, a SoBe and cruise trip is on the horizon for July. While I didn’t do much to prepare for this tripas evidenced in my previous post on extreme dining I hope to check out some new fitness options to get in shape for my second Caribbean adventure this year.
After speaking with Dori after the Healthy Kidney race, I HAVE to check out Core Fusion Cardio and Core Fusion Yoga , and of course, I love sport ! I need to find a deal on exhale, like Missy , I am crossing my fingers that Rue La La has discount packages again. I am still loving my P57 DVDs, but sometimes you need to hit the studio to get reenergized and keep your form in check.
Regardless of how I feel about the Jersey Shore, I am impressed with the boys’ dedication to GTL and health and fitness in general. NYSC is catching in on the trashy phenomenon with a new class called Jersey Core. Can’t hurt to check it out. I mean I don’t want to look like Rambo with my shirt off, but…
Non-members can check out for free this month. It is on Tuesdays at 1:30 @ the 23rd Club and Wednesdays at 7:30 in the SoHo location! Thanks for the info VJD !
Speaking of Vital Juice Daily, I tried the Bikini Body Challenge workout the featured last week. It was pretty goodor at least my sore glutes thought so, but as with most strength, I fear it isn’t interesting or fun enough for me to commit to for 6 weeks. Once or twice a week, I could handle, and mix in some P57 dvds to keep it varied.
My tip for getting through any workout is always music, and Rachel has once again revealed an amazing source of workout musicspiration. I downloaded the 42 minute mochi beats mix , and after a few listens, I was seriously addicted. Better than Girl Talk? Not sure I would say that. A much needed mashup music refresher while we wait for Gregg Gillis to finally put out a new album? Definitely.
GYM SEARCHnew equinox opening
As an update the gym search is officially on. Crunch, New York Health and Racquet, Clay, Printing House and Equinox are all in the running! I have a bunch of trial passes and can’t wait to class it upcause I’m nothing if not classy. I also just learned that there is a brand new Equinox opening up on Broadway and East 4th Street. That’s the old Tower Records space that has been sadly vacant for years. This is exciting because it is far closer to my new place than any other Equinox location, which makes it much more viable. I still haven’t been there, but I like to have options!
Women’s Mini 10K
My next NYRR race is the Women’s Mini 10K! I am excited. I am a big Kathy Switzer fan, and I have never run this race before. However, the Healthy Kidney was my slowest pace for an NYRR race ever, even counting half marathons, so I really need to recommit to running. Less weather excuses! I plan to take full advantage of the 24 hour gym, beach jogs and the running maps offered at the concierge while I am in ‘ruba!
Okay, that’s plenty for tonight! I will recap my first week as a non-student soon, from graduation at Radio City to the my first baseball game of the season last night (yankees/sox), I can without a doubt sayschool’s out forever!
