Summer Holiday Primer – Day 5 – Sleep like a champion

In honor of this evening’s topic I’m writing this post from my bed. I’m about to go to sleep so I’ll keep it short and sweet.
According to the very clever Darya Rose our brains have built-in clocks that do a great job of predicting our behavior and making sure our bodies are ready for things like sleeping and eating. It does this by regulating the hormones that control hunger, satiety, alertness, sleepiness, and all the other things we do on a daily basis.
When we are on a regular schedule of sleeping at the same times each day we are as a consequence hungry at the appropriate times. This helps with our holiday prep by getting us into the best possible rhythms and eating patterns.
