Today I woke up bright and early for my workout. It was an upper body strength training day. I felt good and got a tough workout in. We recently added upright rows to our upper body routine – I love them and my shoulders were still burning 5 minutes after we finished. The interesting thing about strength training at FXB is that we actually don’t use any weights at all, we only use resistance bands, bars, and balls.
It’s crazy that you can do pretty much all of the same moves with just bands that you would normally do with weights. I used to take a Muscle Max class at my old gym (similar to BodyPump) that used free weights + barbells. I feel like I’m getting the same workout now, just with totally different equipment.
I’m considering buying some to keep at home. They are cheap and portable and they would be nice to have in case I miss a class or just want to do some work on my own.
Ok, moving on…
After class I went to Whole Foods. I must have spent a good hour in there today. I bought a coffee (with almond milk and stevia) at their little coffee bar and then I took my sweet time doing the grocery shopping. At 8am on a Saturday it isn’t crowded yet, so it’s actually an enjoyable experience. Whenever I go in the evenings, it’s a total clusterf*ck of people and carts and I just want to get out of there as soon as possible.
I hadn’t eaten yet, so I picked up a Kombucha and trail mix to inhale in the car. Good breakfast? As you can see, I put wasabi peas in my trail mix. I’ve been obsessed with them lately. Wasabi peas + dark chocolate. Best combo ever.
Next, I stopped at Treasure Island for a few things and then Petco for Maddux’s food. Pretty sure I spent almost as much on his food as I did on ours. That dog is spoiled and has expensive taste in dog food. Yikes.
Now I’m chillin, relaxing a little before getting a move on with the rest of my day. I see pizza and wine in my future…
