Still Under the Weather

Breakfast

I think I pushed it a little too hard yesterday because I woke up feeling back under the weather this morning. I made myself a bowl of Raisin Bran cereal with almond milk for breakfast but couldn't taste a single bite. Bleck!



Lunch

I ended up coming home from school early today so I could nurse my cold and headache on the couch and perhaps fit in a nap or two. I ended up munching on some multigrain Tostitos and salsa for lunch, then fell asleep for a couple of hours.


Afternoon Snack

When I woke up, my headache was gone but my throat was feeling quite sore. Luckily, Casey and I had picked up plenty of mini Freezies on our grocery shopping trip yesterday. I had a couple of these little suckers which helped my throat feel much better.


Dinner

I spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing on the couch and catching up on my readings. By dinnertime, I realized I hadn't had anything really nutritionally dense all day. Aside from the few food items mentioned in this post, I did the majority of my eating today snacking on little bland snacks.

I decided to make a nutrition power-house smoothie for dinner by blending up a peeled orange, half of a frozen banana, several big handfuls of spinach and some water. Not too bad for a recovery smoothie!



Evening Snack

Casey and I decided tonight would be a good night to use up a couple of Free Soft Serve Cone coupons we had lying around from McDonald's. It felt great on my throat and it even got me out of the apartment and walking around a little bit.


Workout

Nothing for today, folks! I would apologize, but my body needs rest in order to recover. There's no way I could have done anything strenuous today--my lungs hurt, my throat is sore, and my nose is stuffed right up. Pray for good health to come my way soon because I'm really, really starting to miss the gym!
