I was on the phone with a friend the other day and we were discussing holiday gifts. This year I came up with the idea for the husband and I to do a $100 stocking, and that's it. I outlined the gift policy by saying, you can by one gift or 20 gifts adding up in price to no more than $100. I was excited by this because it gave me parameters for the gift and it made it sort of a challenge to find the coolest gifts, and how many could i get?! You can still get a lot for $100. I like to buy gifts that are unique to that person's desires and hobbies.
So...the husband loves music, coffee, and beer! I can't spill all of the gifts because he hasn't opened them but I tried to find presents that fit under each category. We opened one for the first night of Hanukkah; a t-shirt from one of his favorite coffee shops here in Chicago, Heritage Bicycles. It's super soft and fits great (maybe I got one for myself too!).
Speaking of unique gifts that excite the person because they fulfill their passions, I received one of the most special & thoughtful gifts yesterday! I gasped a little and can't wait to use them. They are personalized recipe cards, so special and so me!
I also received one of the cutest/funniest kitchen accessories from an Etsy shop, lilbasketcase . They are all objects with forks and funny sayings, like...
So in your gift giving be unique, be thoughtful, and it's not how big or expensive the gift is but that you took the time to pick it out just for that person. My heart was warmed by my special gifts.
