Spring Breakers.

Posted Mar 14 2011 9:41pm

After a full day of travelling yesterday, Casey and I bundled up in our pajamas last night and headed back to the airport – this time to Baltimore.  We drove an hour there, waited for an hour for baggage, and finally got back home around 2am.  But it was all 100% worth it because…look who is HERE!

My little sister Sarah is here spending her spring break week with us.  It is technically her vacation, but it feels like such a treat for me!  After our super late night last night, combined with our return to Eastern time, we all slept in late this morning to get caught up on some much needed rest.

After that, it was off to one of my favorite spots – Le Pain Quotidian for lunch!  I am basically only eating carbs and citrus right now, so the minty lemonade sounded like a perfect refreshment!

For lunch, I got a giant bowl of vegan tomato soup, along with delicious fresh baked crusty bread.  I didn’t get a picture, but we also ended up ordering a huge bread basket to go with our soups.  So good.

After lunch, Sarah and I went out on a fun mission to get some craft projects done for our older sister’s upcoming baby shower.

I haven’t done crafts in so long, and I forgot just how fun they are.

The fruits of our labor – adorable little paper owls!

These were surprisingly labor intensive, and after doing about seven of them we needed a break.

The three of us headed up to King Street for dinner at my favorite Old Town restaurant – Layla’s Lebonese.  Check it out – still light outside at dinner time!  I am so SO excited to have Sarah here this week, and can’t wait for all of our fun plans.

I got distracted and forgot to take pictures at dinner, but I basically ended up eating a huge plate of stuffed grape leaves – my favorite thing ever.  Especially because these particular grape leaves are super duper lemony – just what I wanted.  Now we are all curling up for movie time.  Wait until you see the exciting museum we are visiting tomorrow – can’t wait!
