I'm Going to Germany!!

Passport Please!

In just a little over 2 weeks I am heading out to the Motherland to visit my AWESOME brother, Timothy in Germany!! He has lived there for about 5 years and is working on his PHD. I got the looks, what can I say!

Timothy on New years Eve!

The last time Timothy was here for a visit, the day he got back I got an email from him, saying that he was walking when he heard Alpine horns from the town square. When he went to investigate, he found there was a chocolate festival going on. I was at my desk, behind my computer at my 9-5 when I read this--what a great PLACE!! Chocolate festivals? Alpine horns? TOWN SQUARES? This is the little town he lives in.

I don't normally travel and I have no good excuse as to why not, so this is the start of my new travel life!! I am hoping to go on a trip at LEAST once a year, even if it's in the states. Timothy and I have been talking and planning for quite a while about what to do. We both love planning but are also spontaneous. Here is my list of some things I know we are doing and somethings I really want to fit in!

  • Find out what a knockwurst is and EAT one.
  • Go to Munich,Berlin, Stuttgart, Esseling, AND either Switzerland or Belgium
  • Visit Neuschwanstein Castle
  • Yodel off a building. Any building.
  • Go to an OLD bookstore
  • Go to the Ballet
  • See some old churches
  • Visit Dachau
  • Do the polka in a german "townie" bar
  • Get some good coffee in a little shop andeatStollen(a Christmas treat Timothy usually brings home)
  • Run in the German fall weather with my big brother!

Do you travel a lot and if you DO, where is your FAVE place that you have been? I am plotting my next destination!
