Spiritual Growth: From Trying to Just Being

Posted Oct 31 2011 3:42pm

We all want to live extraordinary lives.  Many of us, myself included, are on a quest to find our ‘true purpose’ and ‘what we want out of life.’  We are constantly trying to find this ‘thing’ that will make everything else fall into place.  We believe once we get there we will have eternal happiness.  We remain seduced by a distant perfect destination not realizing that this destination is all around us.  We try too hard to reach a place that isn’t real and our quest only causes us to focus on the wrong things.  Instead of constantly trying to find something we should instead focus on just being.

Live in every moment.

We are all on this earth to grow.  The purpose of life is to grow mentally, physically, and spiritually.  I think that it’s great to constantly want to learn and grow but this becomes a problem when your whole life is built on this purpose alone.  Instead of enjoying moments many of us are constantly searching for something.  What if this something never comes?  What if this something is your life and you are passing it by?

Yoga has helped me learn to live in the present.  It has helped me slow down, focus on my breath, and live in the present.

We all have a passion inside of us that can help bring this out.  Find yours- but find it by living in the moment and in turn you will realize what your heart desires.

Take a deep breath and just be.
