Sometimes You Just Need To Run

Posted Feb 07 2012 8:08pm

How did Tuesday treat you? These past two days have flown by to me. It seems like when I take one day at a time through the work week the weekend just magically appears. Plus, staying busy really helps the time fly by.

This morning I woke up feeling refreshed, even after working late last night. We were in bed by 8:45 and asleep by 9:00 and I didn’t wake up again until 4:50 this morning when my alarm went off. It felt awesome!

When I was trying to decide what to do for my workout this morning all I could think about was running. I don’t just run on the treadmill near as much as a I used to between the Body Attack & Body Pump classes, my workouts have changed since I started lifting again. So this morning I decided to just go to the gym, and run! I ran an easy 3.5 miles and then did abs and it felt so good. I just ran at my own pace and relaxed while I watched the news on the treadmill.

It seems that with my waking up early there’s absolutely no way I can make it to lunch without eating a snack, or two, before that time! I help stay full by drinking my protein shake at my desk.

I’m also going to do a post soon with some examples of snacks that I eat and some “stay thin” tips I’ve found to be helpful. Stay tuned for that!

After work I had to run to the store to pick up all the things we forgot on Sunday. I guess we had Superbowl on the brain! Hamburgers were sounding great and these veggies were sounding even better! I sliced some zuchinni and squash and put them in a Ziploc bag with a little olive oil and tossed them all around.

Then I laid them on a cookie sheet and covered them with a little salt & pepper, and parmesan cheese.

I cooked them of 450 for 20 minutes. Delish!

I made the burners with extra lean ground beef and cooked them on the George Foreman. I chose to wrap mine in some leafy lettuce with a dab of cheese and ketchup.

We also made some sweet potato fries to go with. So yummy!

I was on a roll after cooking dinner that I decided to prepare lunch for tomorrow. I made David and I some tuna salad which I will share the recipe for tomorrow!

Now it’s time for me to layyyy down and relax. Debating what I’ll do for a workout tomorrow – it’s possible I might sleep in! :)
