Friday Travis and I had a date night. I had been craving a burger for a while so we made a trip to one of our favorite places . I got the Dixie burger again because I couldn’t decide on what to order. Do you ever get that way? When you go to a place where you order at a counter and there are so many choices you get flustered and freeze? I do that all the time. This is why I look at menus online before I go out so I’ll have adequate time to decide.
My decision making wasn’t over yet after Friday because we went to Theresa’s for her annual Super Bowl Chili Cook Off. It’s really an annual Chili Cook Off and the Super Bowl happens to fall on the same day;)
Last year I didn’t enter a chili and provided cookies, but this year I went crazy and scoured the internet for a recipe that would be perfect and would stand out. VEGETARIAN!
I made it Friday so all the flavors could meld together and it was great!
The options were very different when it came down to the tasting.
There was pork, beef, chicken, and my vegetarian option.
All were great and so many close ones that I had a tough time deciding. I didn’t vote for my own because I wanted to be honest and choose my favorite, but it was hard.
Not only was there tons of chili options, but cornbread and dessert was in abundance.
The Cinnamon Toast Crunch cupcake was to die for and my favorite dessert!
I was really full by the end of the night which was surprising since I had little cups instead of full bowls. I can’t forget about the baked potato bar either. I woofed it down before a picture, but it was amazing!
Food is always my favorite part of any sports gathering, besides the friends of course, but this time I’m going to say that the Puppy Bowl trumped the eats! It’s a good thing they had two TV’s because the puppy bowl was on and I was all about that. I watch every year and it’s the best part of the football game! Just precious! If you missed it you must check it out! Way better than either team in my opinion!
I am in a food fog from the weekend.
