After growing up in New York and living in Connecticut for a chunk of time, I’m not really impressed by snow.
In fact, I detest snow.
I know that I sound like a grump, but shoveling a car out of 4 feet of heavy snow at 6 o’clock in the morning multiple times in one’s lifetime sort of leaves a lasting impression.
(I do enjoy snow on Christmas though, so I guess that I don’t completely hate it.)
When I first moved to Charlotte in March of 2006, I was amazed by the warm weather (and lack of snow). I vividly remember going for pedicures and making such a huge deal out of the fact that I could wear sandals comfortably.
Nearly 7 years later, I’m still giddy over the warmer climate down here.
MT probably thinks I am crazy for loving the heat so much, but it’s only fair considering how entertained I am by him when it snows. Since he hasn’t seen it as often as I have, he gets pretty pumped!
Last night, we got some “snow” here.
(I put the word in quotes because it was really like more of a dusting.)
Our first “snow” of the year
It was just enough to stir up a little excitement but not enough for schools to close (much to the disappointment of probably every child in the Carolinas).
And it was more than enough for me.
Breakfast this morning was nothing revolutionary, but I’ll share anyway.
I had an egg white scramble with green bell pepper, baby bella mushrooms, spinach, diced tomatoes, and red onion and half of a ruby red grapefruit.
In all honesty, I was planning to save the grapefruit as a mid-morning snack, but I woke up pretty hungry this morning and just couldn’t wait!
Do you like snow? Does it snow much where you live?
What did you have for breakfast this morning? I’m sure that I am getting dreadfully boring with all of my omelets and scrambles. I’ll try to switch it up soon!
The weather here is plain weird – been locked in fog – freezing fog that creates black ice – the mountains disappear in the fog and the whole landscape just changes and throws you off balance a bit. Then you add the cold – brrr cold – the frost coats everything in its path. Gotta love living in a mountain desert environment – ha! Happy Weekend:)
