small victories

Posted Nov 09 2011 9:22am

Remember how nervous I was about this half marathon (see previous post)?  Well, turns out my hard work and nerves paid off!

I know you’re just DYING to know all 13 splits from my half marathon yesterday, so I will enlighten you with these crucial and interesting pieces of information:

6:49, 6:53, 6:38, 6:50, 6:49, 6:48, 6:58, 6:55, 7:00, 6:59, 7:05, 7:10, 6:39 =

That’s an average of 6:52 min/mile pace!  3rd overall female! Which is even more exciting because during the race, I thought I was 4th and after looking at the posted results online, I realized I was indeed top 3! Aaaaand both my roommate and I used GPS during the race, and we both registered the race as 13.2 miles. Double whammy of happiness!

However, what made the day even more exciting was the pre-race experience.  I was with three of the funniest ladies I know: Maxann, Emily, and Laurie…and we could not have been more excited, goofy, loud, or pumped:

My buddy Ross (who took 2nd overall in the race) and I just before the race
