Today, the Beast needed a claw clippin' (pedicure). While sitting in the lovely massage chair, daydreaming about ziti Parmesan, I glance over to the patron to my right and immediately lose my appetite. She had true Beast Feet...dirty hairy claws being hacked and filed and painted purple...eww.
To wipe that image clean, feast your eyes on this...
ZITI PARM BEAST STYLE1lb whole wheat ziti 1/2lb ground beef, 97% 32oz jar tomato sauce-no salt added (Francesco Rinaldi) 15oz ricotta, fat free 2 cups mozzarella, fat free 1t dried oregano 1t dried basil 1/4cup parmesan (This recipe makes a ton...a big tray with 16 servings!)
Preheat oven to 350
Brown beef, drain, add sauce and simmer 10 minutes
Meanwhile, cook pasta + drain
Mix ricotta, 1 cup of the mozzarella, and both spices in a bowl
Toss the pasta and meat sauce together
In a 13x9x2 casserole, add half of the pasta mixture
Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the pasta layer
Add remaining pasta mixture
Sprinkle remaining 1 cup of mozzarella and parmesan
Cover with foil, cook 30 min, remove foil + cook 10 more min.
