A group of six Coloradoans, all in their 20’s, are traveling to 27 ski resorts in eight days to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research, advocacy and education. They are traveling around in a pink RV with the slogan, “Ski Bumps, Fight Lumps.
Alison Friedman, co-founder of the tour said, “Breast cancer has touched each of us in one way or another, and unfortunately, that’s not unique to our group. We all wanted to do something that would truly raise awareness and help those affected by breast cancer. We realized that we could make the biggest difference by directing our energy locally and through something most of us in Colorado have on common – the love of skiing,” said Alison Friedman, an Aspen resident and co-founder.
People can donate to the cause via the ski bump website, http://www.skibumpsfightlumps.org/ . All proceeds will be donated to the Colorado Breast Cancer Coalition, an organization that advocates for quality health care for all Colorado breast cancer patients, while working with caregivers and communities to provide accurate breast cancer education as well as supporting high-quality research.
The “Ski bumps” will finish their tour with a party at the Sky Hotel in Aspen from 3:30 to 6:30 pm March 20. For more information, visit the their website .
