Don’t get me wrong, I am super excited to welcome our next little addition later this year. However, I have to admit, the first thing that popped into my mind after I saw that positive pregnancy test was…
“Oh crap, this means another whole summer waddling around in a maternity bathing suit!”
Not that I’d really gotten my pre-baby body back or anything, but I was kind of excited to wear a normal bathing suit this summer. Alas, ‘normal’ will have to wait until next summer. I actually liked my maternity bathing suit and practically lived in it last year, as evidenced by this oh-how-I-wish-I-could-forget-it shot…
So, given that I am planning to spend as much time as possible up at the cabin again this summer, I decided to go out and buy another one. Sadly, in this part of the world, there aren’t too many maternity suits to pick from, so I capitalized on my ‘cheapness’ and bought another tank-style top from the same store so that I could wear it with the bottoms from last year and therefore have two different suits to pick from. Here’s the best I could do:
Now as you can see by comparing this to the photo above:
a) the suits are quite similar, but hey, I’ll take what I can get, and
b) I can’t quite pull off the “I’m pregnant but still sexy despite my large gut, er, I mean baby bump”
Oh well, at least I have a couple suits I can wear this summer and not feel like I’m wearing my grandma’s bathing costume.
In other news I am proud to report that my endeavour into P90X land yesterday hasn’t left me unable to move today, and in fact, my legs feel pretty good. I like that “I just worked out feeling” and am really realizing how much I miss my running. Jumping around yesterday did show me however, that impact is definitely getting a bit easier for this old bod, so I’d like to try and get in a short, easy run this weekend and see how it goes. I know I’ll never run this time like I did last pregnancy, but a little jaunt once or twice a week would feel pretty good, so I’m really hoping my ‘test run’ this weekend happens, and successfully.
I’m actually heading over to Vancouver Island this weekend for a triple birthday celebration as it’s mine, my mother-in-laws and my brother-in-laws-girlfriend’s-Auntie’s birthday. I’ve been promised a Port-Alberni-good-time for this year’s birthday, so we’ll see how that goes. :o) Since the weather is supposed to be nice, I’m hoping I can also get in some wharf time and get started on this year’s tan.
Anyhow, enough rambling, I gotta go start packing mine and the rugrat’s stuff. How is it that an almost 9 month old can require way more stuff than me for a weekend away!?
