SIGG Water Bottles misleads (at the very least) their loyal customers

Posted Nov 04 2009 10:04pm

By Ray Salomone, Personal Trainer and Wellness Activist

The Swiss may be neutral, but it doesn’t mean they can be trusted. SIGG Water Bottles was forced to disclose that up until August 2008, their popular water canteens did in fact contain BPA, when they heavily marketed the claim that the products were BPA-free.

They of course claim there was no “leeching” but who’s to say if that’s true. I’m certainly not buying it.

The CEO posted a lame message on their site:

  http://www.mysigg.com/bulletin/

In the letter he tries his best at damage control, but he fails miserably. But he did have the balls to say,

“For over 100 years, SIGG has earned a reputation for quality products…”

Knowing that he dug his hole even deeper, he turned to the Huffington Post and tried again:

And he dug his hole even deeper. This guy can’t get out of his own way.

 Note: His email is:  Steve.Wasik@Sigg.com

 It’s not the bullshit Steve.Wasik.CEO@Sigg.com

That’s just a receptacle mailbox they set up to dump all the complaint emails.

Safe to say that reputation has been ruined, all because they tried to save a few dollars in production. It’s becoming more and more of a concern that companies that claim to be BPA-free (and other healthy options) are in fact less than credible.
