There were several long months during our infertility journey in which I really, really wondered if I would ever be lucky enough to enjoy family & friends at my very own baby shower. It had nothing to do with the gifts and all the cute baby clothes… it was just the idea of celebrating a new little life with the people I love most. I wanted that moment so much.
Friday night, that moment was really happening. I had to keep pinching myself to make sure it was real, and then I’d have to hold back tears from all the different emotions.
Of course, I needed a few quick bump pics beforehand.
I was really excited about these balloons. How cute?!
I know I’ve bragged on hubs before, but I really don’t know what on earth I did to get such an amazing husband. For the past few weeks, he’s been coming up with menu ideas for all the food he wanted to make for the shower. Sure, we could have just had it catered, but I thought it was incredibly sweet that he wanted to do this for me.
Dad helped Hubs with the watermelon fresh fruit basket.
My family arrived later than anticipated, thanks to a bump in the road during travel. Like, literally, a bump in the road caused them to lose luggage somewhere between Virginia and North Carolina, so they had to head back north and carefully scan the roads for the missing bags. Luckily, they were eventually found, and no serious harm was done.
Having family staying with us for a few days was definitely the highlight of my weekend; they all did so much in making this shower lovely. My crazy friends made the evening an absolute blast.

Door prizes for the guests.
The gorgeous basket the my mom put together.
I’m so blessed. <3
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday evening! I’ll be keeping my feet up and watching HGTV; the busy weekend has my feet & calves swelling like whoa.
