She Works Hard for the Money

Phew! Sorry guys, I've been so busy lately that I just haven't found the time to post. Monday marked the first official day of my paid internship and I feel like I've barely had time to breathe since! That's ok though, because I am happy to say that I absolutely love where I am working (for privacy purposes and company policy I'd prefer not reveal the location on the blog) - the atmosphere is really like none other. It's very casual and we have so many resources and benefits - sort of like the Google campus in Mountain View, California. I envy the employees that get to work there year round! Although I am super excited about my new job, there is one thing that is less than stellar. The commute. Every morning I have to venture into the teeth of rush hour for a drive that ranges anywhere from 45-90 minutes. It's quite brutal, but I'm learning to embrace dancing by myself to super loud speakers my alone time.

In all the craziness I have managed to snap some random photos of my eats. In general, I've been gravitating towards whatever's easy and filling. I've also been attempting to document a bit, but it can be sort of difficult while I'm at work. Lately, I've been lucky enough to score some free meals with coworkers that have taken me to lunch :)... so as you can tell, photos of lunches are sort of absent. (I figured it might be a bit of an awkward conversation that I can get away with avoiding for now!) On the bright side, what is completely awesome about lunching situation, is that my office is located RIGHT ACROSS from a Whole Foods goodbye bank account. Breakfasts have been my staple oat bowls.

Snacks have been bars. I don't know about you, but I absolutely love bars - they're flavorful, sweet, and packed full of protein that keep me full and energized throughout the work day! They're also not very messy, so I can easily munch on them at my desk.

Dinners have been whatever my family decides to whip up when we get home (we're all working now!) - tonight was turkey burgers. Last night though, I attended a charity event called Supper Under the Stars. (My mom and I scored free tickets from a friend!) We were served a delicious 3-course meal outdoors while listening to some inspirational speakers. I managed to snap photos of the tablescape, salad, and the main course - by the time dessert was served it was too dark to see anything! Sadly, my phone is not gifted in the art of flash photography.

Even though I'm working I still hope to keep the blog up an running. I enjoy blogging and I also have a bunch of new stuff to talk about! If I disappear for a few days it's probably just because I'm super super busy. I promise I haven't forgotten about you, I'm just trying to figure out a schedule that works for me. I've definitely obtained a whole new respect for bloggers that work full time and are still able to consistently post 3 times a day.

side note: Hopper is gradually recovering! She's not quite back to her old self yet, but she's started to perk up again and her limp has decreased significantly.

How do you manage to keep consistent with your blog when you're super busy? Also, what are some of your favorite fail-safe dessert recipes? I figure I'll reveal my passion for cooking/baking to the co-workers in the form of some yummy goodies!
